It’s springtime in wine country! In the spirit of our long-running Memorial Weekend event, we invite you to join us for Memorial Weekend from Wine Country. We will be sharing the Willamette Valley virtually in the weeks leading up to this holiday weekend. Our wineries are slowly beginning to reopen under the Governor’s Phase One Reopening guidelines. Be sure to check out our reopening guide to learn what to expect from tasting rooms during this time.

💯 🏆 King Estate did it again – made Wine & Spirits’ list of the Top 100 wineries in the world.
Wineries from Argentina to Uruguay are eligible for the Top 100 list. For the 14th time in our 30-year history, King Estate is among them. In fact, this puts us in the top 1/10th of 1 percent of the world’s 65,000+ wineries.
In announcing the 2021 winners, wineandspirits’ Editor Joshua Greene said, “We award this honor based on King Estate’s outstanding performance in our blind tasting across a range of wines.”
We are honored to be recognized alongside fellow Oregon wineries & the best producers in the world — bergstromwines, brookswinery, johanvineyards, linguafrancawines, ovumwines, eyrievineyards & walterscottwines.
Among King Estate’s top-scoring wines this past year are the 2019 Backbone Pinot Gris (92 points), 2019 Paradox Pinot Gris (91) & 2016 Brut Cuvée (91). Wines receiving 90-point scores were the 2020 Rosé of Pinot Noir & the following 2019 vintage wines: Croft Sauvignon Blanc, Quail Run Viognier, Steiner Block Pinot Gris, Johnson School Pinot Gris & Croft Pinot Gris.

Why live with regrets when we can make the most of our lives? Do all those things you haven't done because you are "afraid", because of the "excuses", because of this or that. I overheard a lady talking earlier today on how she wasn't willing to do a certain trail that she really wanted to hike because she was afraid. If I were that lady I would have regrets if I didn't do the trail. I totally can relate though with being afraid to do certain things.
I got up super early to watch the sunrise at Diamond point this morning [sunrise was a bust but it's okay]. Although I was a little afraid to hike in the dark [just my daughter and I], I did it anyways with my trusty flashlight.
Better to have been a bit scared and went than to avoided going and then have regrets! 🖤

ABOUT THE ARTIST
For more than a decade, the Willamette Valley Wineries Association has been honored to work with Portland-based artist John Fisher for original Memorial Weekend in Wine Country art.
John pairs his artistic vision with years of graphic design experience to create inspiring, sophisticated landscapes and figurative work. His landscapes have a definitive sense of place, allowing you to feel the emotion and mood of the day with his intuitive use of color and brushwork. The shifting force of weather has a profound impact on his work and ability to capture the soul of the Pacific Northwest landscape. John is an art director and designer in Portland, Oregon, originally hailing from Omaha, Nebraska. A graduate of the University of Kansas Fine Art program, he developed a passion for landscape painting while exploring the back roads and open plains of the Midwest. When not in the studio designing, he is likely to be roaming the countryside, capturing Northwest landscapes on canvas.
